MAREX PETROLEUM CORPORATION was formed in 1982 to identify, develop and bring to maturity on a risk basis and through an association with partners, energy-related business opportunities world-wide. Particular emphasis has been placed on a balanced portfolio of projects in mature areas for limited risk and frontier areas for growth.

Brief History and Track-Record

To date, Marex has conducted 16 projects in 10 countries with 15 partners and associates. As a part of the projects mentioned above Marex has been directly involved with the evaluation, the award and subsequent management and/or field operations for 12 oil concessions. Three of these have the following ultimate recoverable reserves: Sidi el Kilani (Tunisia) 60 MM BBLS, Jarn Yaphour (Abu Dhabi, UAE) 100 MM BBLS. Bermejo (Ecuador) 25MM BBLS.

Marex has pioneered business opportunities in Europe, Africa, the Middle-East, the Far-East, and Latin America, and has maintained regular business and technical contacts with the petroleum granting and supervisory authorities in several of the above-named countries. Through the involvement of Robert Bertagne, its President, it also maintains personal relations with members of the above governments in various positions of authority.

The Future

Marex is positioned for a major growth phase in the forthcoming years through its exposure in the Mozambique Channel where spectacular discoveries have been made on the acreage Marex has recommended for acquisition.
